Assistance to forest fire victims

The Algerian authorities said that compensation for damage caused by forest fires would not be paid in cash. Farmers who have lost their livestock or fruit trees will be compensated by restocking herds and replanting the land affected by fires.

The victim compensation process will continue until October 31, 2017.
