AXA to acquire Prima

On 1 August 2025, AXA has signed an agreement to acquire Prima, an Italian insurtech company operating as a managing general agent (MGA).

Under the terms of the transaction, the French group will acquire 51% of the company's capital for 500 million EUR (579.3 million USD). Call and put options have been granted to AXA and the company’s minority shareholders for the remaining 49% stake.

Pending approval by the relevant authorities, the transaction is expected to be finalized by the end of 2025.

It is worth noting that AXA and Allianz had been competing for several weeks to take control of Prima.
