The Bahraini insurance market confirms its growth in 2005

The insurance market is confirming its 2005 growth with an overall gross premium volume of 251 million USD against 238.4 million USD in 2004, that is a 5.3% increase.
The motor business accounts for 39% of the market shares, followed by the life (17.5%) and fire (15.6%) classes of business.
Made up of 11 local companies and 8 foreign branches, the sector is employing a total staff of 1003 persons, 63% of whom are nationals.
