On Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at 3:15 pm, a fire broke out at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in one of the most luxurious areas of London. A huge cloud of smoke quickly spread over the 5-star hotel located 150 meters from the French embassy and not far from Harrods luxury store.
The fire started on the 5th floor of the12-storey building. The risk of spread of the flames being serious, twenty vehicles and 120 firefighters were quickly deployed on the scene. More than 50 people were evacuated. The causes of the fire are not yet determined.
