Fitch reassess the French life insurance market

The rating agency Fitch has changed its outlook from negative to stable for the French life insurance market in 2019. According to Fitch, the persistence of low interest rates in Europe, the slowing shift to profitable capital-light products and the potential volatility of net flows will continue to put pressure on the profitability of French insurers.

The outlook for the non-life market, on the other hand, remains stable, supported by improved pricing conditions, combined with the underwriting and spending discipline.
