Swiss Re Institute has published its Sigma study No. 2/2025, entitled “World insurance: a riskier, more fragmented world order”.
Global insurance premiums reached 7 799 billion USD in 2024, up 7.2% on the 7 276 billion USD recorded in 2023.
The industry remains dominated by the United States, which accounted for 44.8% of global turnover in 2024.
China maintains its second position, with a market share of 10.2%. The UK follows in third place, with premiums totalling 485 billion USD.
