To fight against the increasing number of road accidents, the road safety services in Algeria are proposing to equip all cars with GPS (Global Positioning System).
This method would allow to:
- track and monitor the trajectory of vehicles,
- orientate the drivers and detect their speed,
- identify the causes of a traffic accident,
- determine the responsibility of each party in case of a motor claim,
- reduce the number of vehicle thefts, a phenomenon that has reached a record level in recent years.
It should be recalled that the Algerian government has recently adopted new road safety measures including tougher penalties for traffic violations.
