Insurance supervision

Kuwaiti authorities are working on a new law for the establishment of an independent body dedicated to the supervision of insurance companies or even to all non-banking financial activities steaming from the financial sector.

This amendment provides, among others , for the separation of life and non life activities. Kuwait has 33 insurance companies including a number of takaful players, established since 2000.
