L'Algérienne des Assurances (2A) to become GIG Algeria

L'Algérienne des Assurances (2A) is changing its name and visual identity to become GIG Algeria. The rebranding was revealed during a ceremony that took place on 2 March 2021, at the International Conference Center (CIC - Club des Pins) in Algiers.

The visual identity was changed following the acquisition by Gulf Insurance Group (GIG) of 49% of the Algerian insurer's share capital in 2015.

GIG, whose main shareholders are KIPCO and FAIRFAX, is active in Algeria, Kuwait, Jordan, United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Syria, Iraq, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Qatar, Oman and Turkey.

In November 2020, the group took over all of the AXA Group's operations in the Gulf region.
