Marine insurance: inevitable tariff increase

Vessels and tankers that sail in the waters of the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman may have to pay increasing war risk insurance premiums. The attacks on the two tankers on Thursday, June 13, 2019 has confirmed the threats on the ships crossing the region.

As a reminder, on May 16, 2019, The Lloyd's of London raised the level of marine risks in the Gulf. This decision was taken five days after the incidents relating to the four ships off the United Arab Emirates.
