Motor insurance at the dawn of the new changes

The supervisory authorities have approved the content of a standard motor insurance policy. A single policy will, thus, cover the risks of damage to the vehicle, theft and third party liability.

This document whose use is set to begin in June is part of a series of measures designed to improve the protection of policyholders. For its part, the Emirati Insurance Association, (EIA), is interested in consulting the insured’s claims record upon any new motor underwriting.

The EIA has also initiated a study of motor tariffs in order to analyze the cause of poor technical results reported for the last four years.
