NAICOM is expediting claim settlements in 2013

The National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) is exerting pressure on insurers to facilitate the compensation of policyholders and reduce the number of pending cases.
Out of the 193 claims received by the Commission in 2013, 61 have already been settled as insurers were forced to disburse a total of 2.44 billion NGN (15 million USD). Standard Alliance, Industrial & General and Aiico Insurance are among the 31 companies involved and most often mentioned.
