Patrick Tiernan has been promoted Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Lloyd's of London, taking over from John Neal, who will step down on 31 May 2025. The appointment will take effect on 1 June 2025.
P. Tiernan boasts almost 30 years of professional experience in the insurance industry, during which time he has served in senior positions with Zurich Insurance, StarStone Insurance and Aviva. In 2021, he joined Lloyd's of London as Chief of Markets.
The new CEO holds a Bachelor's degree in Business and Law from the University College Dublin (Ireland). P. Tiernan is also a Chartered Accountant and fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW).
