Promulgation of the decree Nr. 64/2006

Promulgation of the decree Nr. 64/2006 pertaining to the creation of the Central Bank of Bahrain, which, henceforth, takes over Bahrain Monetary Agency (BMA) created in 1973. The new decree also nullifies the 1987 law regulating insurance. The Central Bank of Bahrain, thus, inherits all BMA's prerogatives and shall continue to fulfil its obligations.
