SCOR authorised to open a branch in Beijing

The Chinese supervising authority has granted license to the French reinsurer for the creation of a branch in Beijing.
In the Pacific-Asia region which it regards as a priority area, SCOR is targeting a 2006 turnover of 160 million EUR (210 million USD) in non life reinsurance and 55 million EUR (72 million USD) in life reinsurance.
