An inhabitant of the town of Wirwignes in France, received a five-month suspended prison sentence for burning his car following a car accident. Being under the influence of alcohol, the driver lost control of his vehicle and ended up in a ditch. Panic-stricken, he set his car on fire and left as if nothing had happened.
It is worth precising that the offender was driving with no license or insurance.
Once identified, the owner was summoned to court. He received a five-month suspended prison term for the criminal damage to property. He also received a fine for driving without a license or insurance.
