Turaco: Kenyan startup offering insurance at 1 USD per month

Turaco, a Kenyan startup, is betting on insurance contracts with attractive tariffs of as little as 1 USD per month, to develop its customer portfolio. The insurtech supported by GAN Ventures and Mercy Corps, believes that "microinsurance is the only way to massively increase" the number of the insured.

The startup's current 40 000 customers could exceed 100 000 by the end of 2020. To enhance its development, Turaco uses technology in the distribution of its products and the management of claims.
