Uninsured vehicles will henceforth be recognized by the police without paper checking

By the end of 2018, the French police will no longer have to ask the papers of a vehicle to check the validity of itsinsurance.

The police vehicles will be gradually equipped with ANPR camera system (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) connected to a database that automatically indicate npn payment of insurance.

The device will also be generalized to the cabins of speed cameras.
