Zurich confirms the possible acquisition of RSA

Zurich Insurance has confirmed being interested in the purchase of the UK insurer Royal & Sun Alliance (RSA).
The Swiss insurer has evaluted the potential bid, as payable in cash. It should be noted that RSA has undertaken a cumbersome process of restructuring following the 2013 accounting scandal in its Irish subsidiary.

RSA emphasizes that no offer has yet been submitted to it by the Swiss group. According to the British code of acquisitions, Zurich has until August 25 as a deadline to make an offer in due form unless it is granted an extension of time by RSA.
