The world is heading for a water crisis

water crisisThe United Nations (UN) has warned that water shortages are becoming more widespread, raising the risk of a global water crisis. Nearly two billion people don't have access to safe drinking water, while 3.6 billion lack access to sanitation services.

This source of life is being depleted due to several factors including overconsumption and overdevelopment, unsustainable exploitation of water resources, pollution and global warming.

Experts believe that the situation will only get worse in the upcoming years.

A water conference was held on 22 March 2023 at the UN headquarters in New York. The three-day event brought together several partners to identify solutions and ensure access to clean water and sanitation for all by 2030.
