Ivorian insurance market: 2022 provisional figures

The Association des Sociétés d'Assurances de Côte d'Ivoire (ASACI) has published the local market's provisional figures as at 31 December 2022.

As of that date, the overall turnover reached 528 billion FCFA (859.3 million USD), increasing by 14% compared to the 463 billion FCFA (799.3 million USD) recorded in 2021.

Non-life premiums have progressed by 18% from 258 billion FCFA (445.4 million USD) at the end of 2021 to 305 billion FCFA (496.4 million USD) a year later. The non-life class of business accounted for 57.8% of the total Ivorian portfolio in 2022.

The life activity has posted a 9% turnover growth to 223 billion FCFA (362.9 million USD), representing a market share of 42.2%.

The amount of benefits paid out by all Ivorian insurers amounted to 258 billion FCFA (419.9 million USD), up by 7% over a year.
