Amazon ventures into cyberinsurance

AmazonAmazon Web Services (AWS), the U.S. group's cloud computing division, has developed a cyber insurance program targeted at customers most vulnerable to cyber attacks, notably small and medium-sized enterprises.

The solution allows policyholders to get a quote for their chosen coverage in just two working days.

These points were made during the annual AWS "re: Inforce" cloud and security conference, held on 13-14 June 2023 in California.

The coverage can be underwritten through the group's three US partners Cowbell, Marsh and Resilience, which are expected to be joined by other insurance market players in the near future.

The new policy is currently only available in the USA.
