Second climate stress test for French insurers

stress testFollowing an initial drill carried out in 2020, the French Prudential Supervision and Resolution Authority (ACPR) has launched its second climate stress test campaign aimed at French insurers.

Its objective is to strengthen insurance companies' ability to measure the impact of climate change on their portfolio model, absorb shocks and improve their risk management strategy.

17 insurance groups representing 75% of the French market voluntarily took part in the campaign. The stress test is based on long and short-term scenarios combining both physical and transitional risk.

The test results are due to be published in 2024.
