Helvetia Global Solutions establishes a branch in the UK

Helvetia Global Solutions, a subsidiary of the Swiss Helvetia Group, has been granted approval by UK regulators to establish a branch in the UK.

Starting 1 November 2023, the new entity will underwrite non-life business related to its integrated insurance solutions and international risks in specialty lines such as aviation and marine.

The creation of the branch came following the new requirements brought in by Brexit. This means that as of 1 January 2024, UK business can no longer be underwritten based on the freedom to provide services. Helvetia Global Solutions, which has already been present in the UK and manages a substantial portfolio of corporate, aviation and marine risks, will therefore be able to proceed with its activities.

The UK branch will be managed by Marc Davis.
