2022 half-year results: Zurich Insurance records best operating performance since 2008

Zurich InsuranceIn the first half of 2022, Zurich Insurance has posted a net profit of 2.204 billion USD, which represents a 1% increase over one year.

The group's operating result went up by 25% to reach 3.393 billion USD as at 30 June 2022. This is the best half-yearly performance recorded by the Swiss insurer since 2008.

The group's P&C activity generated a half-yearly turnover of 23.797 billion USD, showing an 8% growth compared to the first half of 2021. The non-life combined ratio has improved by 2 points to reach 91.9% for an operating profit of 2.055 billion USD.

As for life premiums, they stood at 13.658 billion USD, dropping by 6% compared to the 14.603 billion USD recorded as at 30 June 2021. The life activity's operating result reached 903 million USD compared to the 802 million USD achieved during the first six months of 2021.
