Several road accidents involving public transport in Algeria

accidentAlgeria has recorded at least three serious accidents involving passenger buses in less than 24 hours.

On 22 April 2024, 17 people were injured when a bus tipped over in the Constantine Province.

The next day in the eastern city of Annaba, two buses collided, leaving 16 people injured.

On the night of 22/23 April 2024, 21 people were injured when a bus flipped over in the Blida Province, located 50 km from Algiers.

In Relizane, in the west of the country, a girl lost her life after she was hit by a truck.

The upsurge in the number of accidents caused by public transport and heavy trucks can be attributed to several factors, including driver fatigue, often due to long and irregular working hours, and lack of vehicle maintenance.
