According to the report "Big Data in the Insurance Industry: 2018-2030", investment in Big Data [4] reached 2.4 billion USD in the insurance sector alone. This figure, which relates to only the first seven months of 2018, should record an average annual growth of 14% over the next three years.

The insurance industry has benefited greatly from this windfall, which enables it to broaden its horizons.
