Growth of turnover in 2013

The turnover generated by all Cameroonian insurers attained 163 billion FCFA (342 million USD) in 2013, that is, an increase of 6% compared to the previous year.

Non life insurance dominates with 122 billion FCFA (259 million USD), 75% of all underwritten premiums. Life insurance totaled 41 billion FCFA (68 million USD).

Cameroon has 24 non life insurance companies, and 7 life insurance companies. The Moroccan Wafa Assurance group will soon integrate the market. Only 5% of Cameroonians are insured.
