Zambia: 80 000 farmers holders of insurance in 2015
The Insurance Association of Zambians (IAZ) contributed in 2015 to the underwriting of 80 000 insurance policies by small and medium farmers scattered nationwide. The association is collaborating with the government for the establishment of a public-private partnership in agricultural insurance.
Thanks to this kind of agreement, a viable insurance scheme has now been set up for the benefit of the most vulnerable farmers. This partnership is all the more important for a primary sector that remains the essential driver of the economy.
