Central African Republic: An insurance specialist at the head of the State

Aged 58 years, Catherine Samba-Panza was elected January 20, 2014, President of transition of the Central African Republic.

Mayor of Bangui since May 2013, Mrs Samba-Panza holds a degree in information and communication science, as well as a specialized graduate degree in insurance law, both obtained in Paris (France).

She returned to Bangui in the 90s to integrate the local subsidiary of Allianz as technical director. She left a few years later this position to start her own insurance brokerage company.

As a Fervent activist of the Association of Women Jurists of Central African Republic (AFJC) and a trainer in Human Rights at Amnesty International, Catherine Samba-Panza has illustrated herself by her commitment against violence towards women in her country.
