Covid-19: Pfizer vaccine not recommended for people with allergies

PfizerIn the United Kingdom, the Covid-19 vaccination campaign for the population began on 8 December 2020.

One day after the launch of the campaign, the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) recommended that people with a history of allergy to vaccines, drugs or food should not be vaccinated. In fact, allergic reactions were reported by two members of the UK National Health Service (NHS) after being injected with the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine.

The NHS states on its website that it is very rare for a vaccine to cause a severe allergic reaction (anaphylactic shock). Nevertheless, the MHRA believes that vaccination should be administered in facilities with resuscitation equipment.
