Leaders’ third party liability insurance: increasing claims

The directors' and officers' liability insurance (D&O) is increasingly underwritten by European companies. Complaints against managers and executives are rising, especially when the annual results are negative.

According to a study carried out by the Allianz group, German insurers are overwhelmed by claims against directors and officers. This has resulted in an increase in the D&O policy rates. Although less common than in Switzerland, the recent increase in underwritings suggests that the claims are likely to increase soon.
