Natural disasters weigh heavily on Scor's results

Scor recorded a drop in its net profit in the first half of 2016.

The result of the French reinsurer totaled 275 million EUR (305 million USD), down by 15.9% compared to the same period last year.

This drop is mainly due to the rising costs of natural disasters since the beginning of the year.
These catastrophes include the The Alberta blaze (Canada), the earthquakes that hit Japan, Ecuador and Taiwan, storms in Germany and floods in Sri Lanka.
