During the first half of 2019, 6 577 845 vehicles were registered in Algeria: 165 000 more than during the same period in 2018. In the first six months of 2019, the number of new vehicles increased by 59.41% compared to H1 2018.
Over the same period, imports declined by 28.44% to be set at 8 300 units, the rest of the vehicles are manufactured locally.
The motor turnover in 2019 reached 69 244 million DZD (578.9 million USD), which represents 47.37% of the premiums collected on the Algerian insurance market as a whole.
