Munich Re confirms its commitment to the environment

Munich Re has set new objectives to contribute to carbon neutrality. Starting 1 April 2023, the German group will no longer insure, reinsure or invest in projects covering the planning, financing, construction or operation of:

• new oil and gas fields where no production has started as of 31 December 2022
• new oil-related infrastructure and new oil-fired power plants, which have not yet been built or in operation by the end of 2022

Through this commitment, Munich Re aims to meet the objectives of the Paris Agreement.
