Société Générale is willing to develop its bancassurance model. Its division Société Générale Insurance ended the year 2016 with a record turnover of 368 million EUR (388 million USD), that is a 10% increase compared to 2015. Over the last four years, the average annual growth in bancassurance reached 9% in non life insurance and 8% in the protection class of business.
Internationally, the French group intends to invest in bancassurance in Tunisia where it is already present through a local subsidiary, the Union Internationale de Banques (UIB).
