Update of the unified program of motor insurance in Saudi Arabia

The Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency (SAMA) has published an update of the unified program of motor insurance. The new document brings about a change to the basis for calculating compensation. It gives the insured the right to file a complaint online, through the SAMA website.

Prior to this update, policyholders were compelled to settle their disputes via the Resolution of Insurance Disputes and Validation Committee.

As for the limitation period, it has been increased from three to five years.
