Deadly floods in Somalia

catastrophe naturelle inondations SomalieAt the end of March 2023, heavy rains hit southern Somalia resulting in severe flooding. This event claimed the lives of 21 people and displaced 100 000 others.

The natural disaster also ravaged six health facilities, four schools and more than 1 000 hectares of farmland.

The floods occurred at a time when the country was in the middle of a severe drought leaving more than 8.25 million people in need of humanitarian aid.
