According to the report of the ONSR (National Observatory of Road Safety), the number of road accidents in Tunisia [4] between 1 January and 31 August 2018, recorded a decrease compared to the same period of 2017.
As of August 31, 2018, Tunisian roads registered 3862 accidents against 4919 for the first eight months of 2017, a decrease of 21.49%. The number of fatalities is also down by 13.38%. It dropped from 942 to 816 deaths for the reporting period.
For the record, communication campaigns focused on road safety [5] and the use of seat belts are periodically launched by the ONSR.
