Road crashes in Tunisia: 2018 promises to be less deadly

According to the report of the ONSR (National Observatory of Road Safety), the number of road accidents in Tunisia between 1 January and 31 August 2018, recorded a decrease compared to the same period of 2017.

As of August 31, 2018, Tunisian roads registered 3862 accidents against 4919 for the first eight months of 2017, a decrease of 21.49%. The number of fatalities is also down by 13.38%. It dropped from 942 to 816 deaths for the reporting period.

For the record, communication campaigns focused on road safety and the use of seat belts are periodically launched by the ONSR.
