Hurricane Mekunu causes extensive damage

The insured losses caused by Hurricane Mekunu, which ravaged the Arabian Peninsula from 21 to 27 May 2018, reached 281 million USD, a figure which concerns only the damage caused to Oman.

This exceptional tropical cyclone swept through Socotra Island, Yemen, Saudi Arabia and Oman. It has claimed the lives of 31 people and caused thousands of victims across the region.
