Torrential rains battered several cities across Senegal on 4 October 2026, causing severe flooding.
The regions of Kaolack, Matam, and Dakar were among the areas affected. According to local authorities, at least five people have died, although the death toll could rise.
The flooding has also caused significant material damage, including destroyed buildings, damaged roads, and submerged vehicles.
