The Financial Services Agency (FSA) is set to temporarily suspend the operations of Prudential Life Insurance, the Japanese subsidiary of U.S.-based Prudential Financial.
The regulatory action comes after company employees were found to have embezzled client funds.
According to sources familiar with the case, the misappropriated funds amount to 3.1 billion JPY (19.6 million USD).
