The purchase of Saham Finances by Sanlam approved by the supervisory authorities

The acquisition of Saham Finances by the South African insurer Sanlam, received the approval of the supervisory authorities in mid-August 2018. According to official sources, the transaction will be finalized by October of the current year at the latest.

The transaction, which was announced on March 7, 2018, is expected to amount to more than 1 billion USD. It covers 53.4% of the capital of Saham Finances. It should be recalled that Sanlam already had a 46.6% stake in the capital of the Moroccan group.
