The Africa Credit Rating Agency (AfCRA), an independent credit rating and financial information agency, officially began operations in Mauritius on 7 October 2026 under the auspices of the African Union.
Its establishment follows years of collaborative efforts by the African Union and the African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM), with support from the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) and African financial institutions.
AfCRA aims to provide additional data, insights and perspectives on the assessment of African economies, complementing the work of international credit rating agencies.
